Why I'm Starting GLP-1 Treatment
I've been active for years — strength training 3 to 4 days a week, walking regularly, watching what I eat. And yet, despite doing a lot of things right, my weight has stayed stubbornly above where I want it. Not from lack of effort. Just from biology being biology.
After discussions with my doctor, and after being diagnosed with sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and pre-diabetes — all closely linked to excess weight — I've decided to try GLP-1 medication. This is not a shortcut. It's a tool. One I intend to use alongside everything I already do.
What This Journal Is — and Isn't
I'm not here to sell you anything. I'm not a health influencer. I built this site because I couldn't find a single free, honest, science-based resource for GLP-1 users who actually want to preserve muscle during treatment — so I made one.
This journal is the companion to that. A weekly check-in where I report what's actually happening: weight, side effects, training, appetite, mood, sleep. The honest version, not the highlight reel.
I'll stay anonymous. You won't know my name or where I'm from. But you'll know everything that matters about how this treatment is actually going.
My Starting Point
Before the first injection, here's where I am:
What I'll Report Each Week
Every entry will cover the same framework, so you can track progress over time:
- Weight: Current weight and weekly change
- Dose: Where I am in the titration schedule
- Side effects: Honest rating of nausea, fatigue, GI issues
- Training: What I managed, what I skipped, and why
- Protein: Whether I hit my daily target
- One honest observation: Something unexpected, something that worked, or something that didn't
I'll post every week, even when there's nothing exciting to report. Consistency in the journal mirrors the consistency I'm trying to build in the protocol. If you're starting your own GLP-1 journey, I hope this gives you something realistic to compare against.
Next entry: Week 1 — first injection, first side effects, first real test of the protocol.
